Playing an Action
After recording an action, you can then play it back on an individual image file or a
folder containing many image files.
Playing an action on one image
Open the image on which you want to play the action.
If the Actions palette is displayed in Command Mode, select the action you want to play,
and then click the Play button at the bottom of the Actions palette.
If the Actions palette is displayed in Button Mode, click the action you want to play.
Try this out with some of the actions that come with Photoshop. Figure 5
shows two actions, Cast Shadow and Water Reflection, applied to some type.
Tip: Before playing an action on an image file, create a snapshot to save the way the image looks
(also called a state). If you don’t like the effect the action has on the image, you can then
use the snapshot to revert to the earlier state.
